Changing a car seat into a belt positioning booster?
dhinapriscillalouise Asked: Changing a car seat into a belt positioning booster?
I can't find the instructions that came with our car seat and can't find them online either! I have a Cosco forward facing car set. The weight limit for it as a car seat is 40 lbs…just had my 2.5 year old at the docs and found out he weighs 49 lbs.
The car seat can also be used as a belt positioning booster for children 41-80 lbs. The problem is that I don't know how to do it!
Its a one piece seat and secured in the car using LATCH…My guess is that I leave it LATCH'ed in and and use the seat belt to buckle him in instead of the 5 point harness that's connected to the seat.
Can anybody help me?? Or have any suggestions?? I want my little man to be safe!!
Thanks

How old was your child when they stopped using a booster seat in the car?
boneheaderss Asked: How old was your child when they stopped using a booster seat in the car?
Include in your answer:
When did your child start riding in a booster seat and why did they convert to a booster seat?
When did your child stop riding in a booster seat and why did they stop?
Was it a highback booster seat or a backless booster seat?
What do you think about the 4 feet 9 inch recommendation?
Would you force your child to use a booster seat even after age 8 who are under 4 feet 9 inches have to use a booster seat?
If the law said that children under 12 had to be in a booster seat if they were under 4 feet 9 inches tall, would you be angry? Would you follow it? Would you be happy about the new law?
I want to get a feel for what people think about these recommendations (Best answer will be given to person who answers all questions)

When is it a good idea to buy a booster seat for my son?
October Mama Asked: When is it a good idea to buy a booster seat for my son?
He is 22mo old, and obviously still needs to be in a carseat. When is it a good idea to switch him to a booster seat? Just when I feel necessary? He is tall and lanky just like his dad

Would you think this was rude?
Marie Asked: Would you think this was rude?
Kids who sit in carseats or booster seats are bound to spill something in them from time to time, and this one woman I babysit overnight for has never washed her childs carseat so its pretty grubby so I was wondering if it would be rude to wash the carseat cover and tell her that I was washing other carseats and threw hers in with them. I have a infant carseat and booster seat but her daughter is to big for the infant seat and to little for the booster seat so I have to use hers.

When can my son move into a booster seat?
Chelse Allen Asked: When can my son move into a booster seat?
My son will be 2 at the end of February, he weights roughly 35lbs. He is currently in a forward facing car seat, but he seems to be to big for it and I can tell he's uncomfortable.
When can he be moved into a booster seat with a back?
I tried looking up my states car seat laws but I couldn't find them. I live in Georgia.

when do i switch to a booster?
Jessica Asked: when do i switch to a booster?
I have a 4 year old daughter who will be 5 in a couple months and starting Kindergarten next year. I still have her in a 5 point harness Britax Marathon. She weighs 45 pounds and the seat goes up to 65 but recently she has started complaining about being uncomfotable in her seat and she honestly looks too big for it even though she is under the weight limit and height so she has not "outgrown" it. Everyone I know with children this age have already switched them over to a booster…But I am so nervous about doing it…I'm so scared she will not be safe, she seems so young and fragile for a booster but looks too big for a car seat.. Any other moms going through this? Going crazy here…don't want to make a mistake.

What would you do? Keep a 2010 Kia Rio or trade it in for a 2004 Honda Pilot?
Dessa Freeman Asked: What would you do? Keep a 2010 Kia Rio or trade it in for a 2004 Honda Pilot?
I have a 2010 Kia Rio with 27000 miles on it, bought new and its been a great little car. Gets around 30 mpg around town and 35-40 mpg highway. We have the option to trade it in for a lower interest rate on a used 2004 Honda Pilot with 72000 but we will be paying about $10000 more then what we owe on the Kia, as the honda has a higher value then the newer kia. The kia gets better gas mileage but we need the extra space the honda has to offer, as we have two kids, one in a booster seat and the other in a car-seat and in the next year we are thinking of having another. Should we wait and pay off the kia then try and trade for a newer honda or trade now?
